New erotic film: Evolution- Ages of Sex

On the erotic filmmaking front, a short film I made entitled Evolution (which is part of a larger film called Ages of Sex for Thagson Media in Spain), is finally available digitally through my website!

Evolution is about a loving couple whom has lost their passion for each other, due to being bogged down in the day to day routine of life. However, an unexpected arrival unlocks hidden desires and reignites their lust for each other.

If you would like to learn more about the film and see me with shocking white blonde hair, you can see the behind the scene here.

Wicked Women

Japser Layouts – Wicked Women

At the end of last year, I had the privilege of being chosen as one of 10 filmmakers to be part of an ABC Arts and Screen Australia initiative, Love Bites.  Film Victoria came on board too! The films were part of the 40-year celebrations of Mardi Gras.

I had pitched the idea of a film about a lesbian sex magazine, called Wicked Women, that ran from the late 1980s until the mid 1990s.  For me this film was about highlighting the pioneering women who were brave and broke away from conventions around sexual and gender expression, and who ultimate made it easier for me and many other to explore our sexual expression.

I’d like to give a massive thanks to all at the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives, who without their amazing resources this would not have been possible.  Especially to Nick Henderson and Kathy Sports for the generosity of their time and knowledge.

Making a film is a collaborative effort, so I would also like to thank Stitch Williams for letting me cover her hands in makeup, Felicia Smith for her beautiful images, Hannah Palmer for making magic with lights, Troy Mauri for his sound design, Tony Stevens for his editing and being a creative collaborator, Jo Chichester at the ABC for her wisdom and assistance in guiding me through this process, Alicia Brown at Film Victoria for helping out this underground indie filmmaker make sense of funding processes, Alyssa Orvis  from Screen Australia, Kate Pappas for being a wise owl, Shaun Miller for providing reason at stressful times, DJ Gemma and Mystery Carnage for music, and Glitta SuperNova for the extra stories!

There would be no film without the Jasper Laybutts, Lisa Salmon and Kimberley O’Sullivan.  Thank you to you all from your time and stories from that era, and for trusting me to upholding your legacy.

If you are in Australia, you can check the film out here.

image-for-crowd-funding

Lots has been happening since I last posted.  I really am the worst blogger on the planet!

Firstly, I have just launched the crowd funding for my new film The Bedroom!

Its an erotic film that is set in one bedroom over six decades and looks at the development and changes in sex and sexuality in Australia!

I’ve got a great cast on board including Zahra Stardust, Angela White, Chloe B, Lily Rei and many more.

So please come and give us a hand making the bed!

In other news THREE films I have worked on over the past 12 months will be screening at this years Berlin Porn Film Festival!  They are” MusicBox” and”A Call for Help” by Morgana Muses and Zahra Stardust’s film, “Fuck Dolls”.  I wish I could be there this year!  Michelle Flynn and Ms Naughty are two of the filmmakers in focus!  Australians are rocking the festival!!

Casting for a new Erotic film!

We are looking for adult actors/performers for a new erotic explicit film from award winning feminist erotic filmmakers, Morgana Muses and Anna Brownfield.
This film is a sexy comedy, so we are looking for people who can see the humor in sex!
We are looking to cast the following roles:
Female performer age 25-35 Fit, curvy, nerdy/quirky ‘bombshell’ (not necessarily blonde). Possess comedic timing and has the ability to produce a range of facial expressions-such as a look of shock, frustration, anger, amusement, jubilation.
Female performer 35-55. Well-groomed, feminine and pretty in a soft and understated way. Posses a woman next-door look. No tattoos, piercings, radical hair colour/style.
Female performer 35-45. Slim and angular body type. Will need to appear sharp, focused and in control-in mannerisms and slick in dress.
Four male performers aged between 20 -55 years.  While looks are not so important, you will need to have a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ and a desire to put female pleasure above and beyond your own.  The male roles do not have any dialogue but comic timing and a sense of humor are a plus!
Auditions will be held on Saturday 25th January in Melbourne
For more information please send a headshot along with your name, age and a brief description of your experience.

Eros Shine Award Nomination!

best-australian-porn-production-or-production-company

Can’t believe it but Poison Apple Productions and a whole lot of awesome feminist erotic/porn makers have been nominated this year for Best Porn Production or Production Company.

Please click here and cast your vote for Poison Apple Productions and prove to the mainstream industry that there is a desire for alternative/feminist porn and erotica.

I will also be eternally grateful!

So where have you been?

Yeah, I’m sure that is what you have all been asking.  I must be one of the worst bloggers on the planet.  I always think about it and tell myself that I must do it, but then life and creating get in the way and I forget.
So what have I been doing?
LOTS!

Still from video made for Falling
Firstly, I did an art collaboration called Falling with Australian sculpture Annee Miron, Finnish chorographer Favela Vera Ortiz and Finnish dancer Sanne From.

I haven’t made any video art before.  I’ve made plenty of experimental films in my early filmmaking days so there were elements of getting back to my roots, but I’m not sure about this art thing.  It seems a lot harder to make a living from it and I think you need to be even more dedicated to do art here in Australia than you do filmmaking.

Also, I had a chance to shoot some more footage for Doing it Her Way.

All of Australia’s feminist pornographers got together for Porno Camp.  It was a great weekend of skill sharing and networking.  I finally got to meet and interview the political Zahra Stardust, and the very reclusive Ms Naughty. As well as shoot some observational footage of the weekend.

I also got to meet Morgana Muse, who won first prize at the Joy awards last year.  I’m hoping to do an interview with her in the near future.  She generously let me shoot behind the scenes on her new film “New Tricks” which was great and made me miss making erotic films, but hopefully we will be collaborating on a project in the near future!

Finally, this Saturday 1st June at 11am  Making it Handmade” will be playing at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.  I’ll be there for chats and craft afterwards, so if you are anywhere near come and say Hello!
